United Biosciences has a Privacy Policy to demonstrate its commitment to handling private information about individuals. We are committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy, accuracy and security of your personal information. United Biosciences abides by the National Privacy Principles ("NPPs") under the Privacy Act 1988 as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cth).

Your Personal Information

United Biosciences will only collect information in the process of conducting business. That personal information may be obtained directly from you, via another contact in your organisation or through a third party who we believe has informed you that your details may be provided to us. We will only store your personal details if they are relevant to your organisation conducting business with us. The information we collect will include contact details, personal and organisational details, financial information and information about your use of our product and services.

We store personal information to ensure that we can maintain contact with the organisations with which we do business. This contact may be verbal, electronic or written. The reason for the contact may be to inform, request assistance or to maintain a relationship. If you choose not to provide personal information, we may not be able to provide with the products or services you require, or the level of service on which we pride ourselves.

United Biosciences will not collect any sensitive information, such as information relating to your health, unless this is necessary to provide you with a specific product or service.

Where practice, United Biosciences only collects personal information directly from your use of our website.

However, we do also gather data in other ways, including:

United Biosciences will not share, sell or trade your personal information to any non employee.

We do allow your information to be provided to other organisations who perform certain function or operations for us for the purpose of providing services to you. If we consider the purpose of the disclosure is not within the reasonable expectation of you, we commit to obtain your consent before disclosing any of your personal information.

We bind these companies to the same standard of care as we do ourselves so that they cannot provide this information to anyone else. We enforce this requirement through contractual agreements.

You have access to your information

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law and when disclosure of your information is not possible without compromising commercially sensitive information.

You can request access to your information by contacting us at sales@unitedbiosciences.com.au. This service is free unless the information you request requires significant research or preparation time. Before we act upon requests of this nature, we will tell you how much this service will cost.

Help us to ensure we hold accurate information

United Biosciences takes reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, the accuracy of that information depends to a large extent on the information you provide. That's why we recommend that you:

  1. Let us know if there are any errors in your personal information; and
  2. Keep us up to date with changes to personal information such as your name or address.

United Biosciences website may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of any linked sites as their privacy policy may differ from ours.

In providing our services to you it may be necessary for us to forward personal information to relevant overseas third party service providers. Please let us know if you have any objections to such transfers.

Changes to our Policy

From time to time it may be necessary for us to review and revise this Policy. We reserve the right to change our Policy at any time, should this occur the amendment would be posted on our website.

What to do if you think we have made an error

United Biosciences are committed to the protection of your privacy, and our policies, processes and systems have been developed with this intent.

However, errors do occur sometimes. If you think we have not lived up to our commitment, we invite you to contact us.

Our objective is to respond to any complaint within two working weeks. Where we have not met our privacy commitments, we will apologise and take reasonable action to correct the practice or omission which led to the error. If we cannot resolve your concern to your satisfaction, you can refer the matter to the Privacy Commissioner on 1800 023 985 or at www.privacy.gov.au.
